Here are the refinements to make your
techniques more efficient
The comments in Blue are comments like you would receive if
you were doing the test. In other words, I am “testing” the
video course in today’s standards.
The red print is the reason for the slight changes that
have been added over the past seven years .
1st Green
Falls
Forward Roll - OK
Left Fall - OK
Right Fall - OK
Back Fall - Roll over -OK, need to
show - Roll Up
Rolling up was added because of another possible location
of the attacker that threw you.
Lock From a Push
Wrist Lock High - OK
Wrist Lock Low - Keep lock near your
center, away from your neck
Keeping the lock near your center was added because you
need to protect your throat and face while using this
technique against a knife.
Grip Escapes
Same Side - Block the elbow during
release
Controlling the elbow was added to protect your face
against an elbow strike.
Cross Wrist - OK
Two Hands on Wrist - OK
Reversed Grips OK
Two Hands on Throat - OK (bad view) -
make sure and step behind shoulder to push
Stepping behind the shoulder was added to push against a
weakened stance.
Knife Movements - Blocks - Kicks - Strikes
7 Angles Knife OK -(When learning
which arm is the hard blocking arm make a fist)
The fist was added to the blocking arm to force students to
learn which is the hard blocking arm.

Traditional Hip Throw - Block center
line to throw
Pivoting in the attackers centerline was added to take down
very large, strong opponent.
Traditional Out Side Reap - OK (bad
view) - keep left hand in front of Shoulder to push
The left hand in front of the shoulder was added to prevent
a wrapping arm, like the modern one uses, this helps throw the
attacker away from you feet.

Traditional Locks
Inside Wrist Lock - Keep his hand
against chest as you roll it down
Contact was emphasized to make the rolling of his hand
easier.
Outside Wrist Lock - Do not raise
breaking arm high
A lower movement was added to prevent the attacker from
blocking the technique.
Straight Arm Bar - Make contact upper
arm to his elbow before snapping
Contact was added to make the break smaller and more
efficient.
Flexing Straight Arm Bar - Stand up
straight, putting weight on his shoulder
Shoulder leverage was added to make the break smaller and
more efficient.
Cross Bent Arm Lock - Turn body, and
face away from kick at the end
Turning away was added to prevent kick to the head when
both your hands are already doing the ending of the technique.

Blocking the shoulder helped stop extremely fast arm bars.

person from accidentally punching their own face.

7 Sword Angles with Kicks - OK (When
learning which arm is the hard blocking arm make a fist)
Sword Disarms - OK accept the vine,
instead of pulling back, use back of hand to lever his arm
down.
The Evolution of the Vine Lever, disarms 2&3 (left hand) - Back (pulled
attacker into you), Forward and down like a Karate Chop (good
leverage but exposed your fingers to a lock) Forward and down
with palm up sticking to his arm (removes threat of finger
locks)
Kicks
Foundation Kicks - OK Make sure you
float in on long range kick.
Strikes
Elbow Strikes - Place Block hand like
a feeler on his lead (jabbing) hand, feel his movement to
strike and then elbow him.
Feeler contact was added to speed your response and to use
this technique in marginal lighting.

this after you are down. Apply pressure to the inside of the
knee with your right foot, pushing diagonally out.
This technique was started after you were grappling to make
it more effective and controlling.

Gun Lock Finger Lock - Use two hands
on the gun for better control.
Your test requires a two hand grip on gun (over hammer and on
trigger guard). Do not lower your self to the ground unless
you are aware of another attacker with a gun that might be
firing in your location.
Gun Wrist Lock High - OK disarm gun
with hand on top of barrel.
This was modified to jam a semi-automatic gun, “stove pipe”
the round, if the gun is discharged. Also as mentioned before,
do not swing the weapon near your face, keep the weapon near
your center for control.
